Character Name: Feliciano Vargas
Country: Italy
Age: 23
Position: Charms professor and Head of Hufflepuff
Gender: Male
Personality: Feliciano is, in a word, cheerful. Eternally optimistic, he is able to find something positive in even the worst situations. His cheerfulness is also highly contagious, and it is not uncommon for Feliciano to hug anyone with a frown on his face in an attempt to cheer said person up. Feliciano loves chatting with anyone who will listen and his friendly nature made him rather popular during his school days. Occasionally, however, this bubbly nature can come off as clueless, making it a tiresome affair to deal with Feliciano. He is also easily distracted, making him rather clumsy and something of a ditz.
Despite his cheerful demeanor, however, Feliciano is not naïve. Having lived most of his life under the rule of Pangaea, his is fully aware of the darker side of the world. However, to Feliciano, it is better to look towards a better future than to fall into despair over the bad things, especially those beyond one’s control. Those rare moments when his hope is shattered, Feliciano becomes incredibly distraught, and only a select few can bring him back to his normal, happy self.
Background: Feliciano was born in Rome, Italy in the year 2011. For the first few years of his life, he lived a relatively peaceful existence with his parents and, eventually, his younger brother Lovino. However, the rise of Pangaea disrupted this when her influence finally reached into Italy. Feliciano’s parents, fearing for the safety of their sons, placed them under the care of their grandfather. While Feliciano missed his parents greatly, his grandfather cared for the two young boys well, and again a sense of contentment was formed.
When he came of age, Feliciano left home to enter the Mountaintop Institute. While nervous to be away from the familiar home he had known, Feliciano was quickly able to make friends through his cheerful nature. His grades were adequate enough, though most of his professors wished that he would put more focus into his work. However, it was also here where Feliciano found his true passion for the minor subject of Charms. To him, charms were a way to bring good to the world through magic, and he quickly began studying the few magical texts he could find. This love of charms continued after his graduation, and he became determined to share his findings with anyone who would listen.
After the fall of Pangaea, Feliciano was ecstatic to learn that Hogwarts would reopen. Yes, this was his chance to show the good that magic could do and help shape a brighter future. It would also be a chance, he hoped, to reconnect with his younger brother, whom he had not seen since he entered the Mountaintop Institute. Due to being one of the first students hired and his passion for helping others, Feliciano was asked to become the Head of Hufflepuff, a position which he enthusiastically, though hesitantly, took.
RP Sample: Feliciano hummed softly as he finished hanging a small wind chime onto the window of his classroom. His brow furrowed slightly as he flicked his wand upwards, sliding the wind chime onto the small hook he had placed into the windowsill a short time before. “Perfect,” he grinned, pleased with his successful spell. His gaze moved from the wind chime to the rest of the classroom. It was small and intimate, a perfect setting to get to know his students. The desks had been arranged along the edges of the room, leaving a large area in the center for practice. The walls were covered in various paintings and photographs of Italy, a reminder of home and a way to brighten an otherwise dreary room. “Ve, I can’t believe the school year is almost starting,” he murmured, his eyes closing as he sighed. He wouldn’t admit it, but he was rather nervous. What if he wasn’t good enough to be teaching? What if the students didn’t like him? Would they appreciate what he was trying to show them?
Feliciano frowned, shaking the negative thoughts out of his head. Of course his students would understand. What wasn’t there to like about magic? Sure, it could be used for bad things, but there was a lot of good it could do to. He’d never taught before, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t share what he did know. Clenching his fist, Feliciano nodded. Yes, he could do this! He would be the best Charms professor Hogwarts had ever seen.
(How is it that one little application gave me so much trouble? I deeply apologize for taking so long to finish this. Hopefully, my humble little application will do enough to make up for the delay. Please let me know if there's anything I need to change.)
(EDIT: Apparently, the paragraph breaks were lost when I posted this. I went ahead and added these in to make it easier to read)
