Character Name: Tino Väinämöinen
Country: Finland
Age: 17
House: Hufflepuff
Gender: male
Personality: Tino is your typical hufflepuff; he’s kind, well-mannered and helpful. He’s usually very calm and has a long temper, but can be pretty bad-mouthed when he gets mad. He’s very social and enjoys talking to people, but if you pay attention you’ll notice he doesn’t really talk much about himself and likes to evade the subject altogether. Otherwise, he’s very friendly and is always ready to help people with their problems, be it homework or something else. He’s trustworthy and loyal, so people often find him a good person to open up to. However, he expects people to be the same; liars and people who break their promises are among the things he hates the most.
Background: Tino was born in southern Finland in 2017. He’s a half-blood: his mom was a witch and his father’s a muggle. Though he showed some talent in magic at a young age, because of the Pangaea’s reign his parents thought it safer to put him into a muggle school where his magic wouldn’t be discovered as easily. When Tino was in the second grade his mother disappeared while on a mission from a resistance group. Being left to live alone with his father Tino was raised pretty much like an average muggle kid and that’s what he pretended to be outside his home. Despite some occasional accidental magic incidents, he fit in quite well with the other children and had a pretty good time at school.
Once Pangaea was defeated and Hogwarts opened again, Tino received an invitation from the school. His father would’ve wanted him to finish his muggle school first, but Tino insisted on accepting the offer. While Tino was sad to leave his father and friends behind, he was exited to finally gain the proper wizard training and understand the world he belongs to better.
RP Sample: It had been somewhat of a surprise. Not that he hadn’t hoped for it, he just hadn’t thought they’d really take in someone as old as him. But there he was now, sitting on the sofa in the small living room, reading the letter from Hogwarts for probably the hundredth time since it had slid onto the doormat less than twenty minutes ago. His eyes ran across the lines, reading the words over and over again as if seeking for confirmation that it wasn’t all just a cruel joke.
Like the seal on the envelope wasn’t enough of a proof.
Finally tearing his eyes off the letter, Tino glanced at the old clock on the wall. Quarter to four, his father wouldn’t be coming from work for another hour or so. He had to tell him. Clutching the invitation in his hand he rose and half-run upstairs into his room.
”Where the hell did I put my cell?” He muttered as he peeked under a pile of school notes on his desk. After a minute or two later of furious searching he finally found the device under a pile of clothes and sat down on his bed. He read the letter for one last time, just to make sure. Then he typed a text message to his father, a short one but it said all that was necessary.
Dad, I’ve been accepted into Hogwarts.
