Character Name:Ivan Braginski
Country: Russian Federation
Age: 17
House: Slytherin
Gender: Male
Personality: Smart, Cunning, Ambitious. Ivan is extremely intelligent, to the point where his parents would parade him. Unfortunately this came with a price; in the form of tantrums and lack of social skills. He gets angry when confused, and violence goes hand in hand. However, he is mostly calm. Ivan is also very idealistic in some circumstances. He believes that there should be not separation between Muggles and Wizarding kind, in order that tyrants like Voldemort and Pangaea couldn’t gain followers again. He’s very well-read, from magical theories to papers by well-known Marxists.
Despite this idealism, Ivan has a slight realism about him, as he knows he can’t achieve anything without force. This is probably one of the most worrying things about him; no one knows how exactly far he’ll go to achieve his goals.
Background: The “precious son”, Ivan was an answer to the woes of Alexei Braginski and Tatiana Braginskaya. He is talented, good looking, and very good with magical studies. But with all his intelligence, his social skills, or lack of them, were the biggest blow to the Braginskis, but they quickly covered it up by showing him off as incredibly gifted. His parents didn’t understand Ivan’s “angry periods” and generally screamed at him or ignored him during them. Because of this, it is Ekaterina who he considers more of his mother. He loves Katya, when he was younger it was her he’d follow around. Despite being ‘gifted’ he cares only about his sister.
His parents had forced him into dueling for the sake of appeasing Pangaea, but Ivan hated her and hates tyrants, and also hates his parents. Then his half sister came, and Ivan cares for her, but generally finds her quite annoying. But, like a true slytherin, he doesn’t show it, and spends his time being nice to her so that he make use of Natasha later. He wouldn’t do that to Katyusha because he seriously idolizes her. Although he’s afraid to tell her that he thinks of her as his mama, having not even shed tears when Tatiana died. (In fact, he said good riddance)
After Panagaea’s death, Ivan and his sibling were sent to Hogwarts. As Ivan has little social experience, this experience is unnerving, but he has an ability to manipulate people, whether with pretty words or with strong fists. (It is wise to note, that despite him being very tall, he is 17, and has not yet begun his muscled stage. He is still pretty slim. His hair is longer and flippier as well.)
RP Sample:
Ivan lies on his sheets. They smell too flowery, and they itch. The four-poster bed he is laying has dusty, stained with god-knows-what curtains. The room is dark and Ivan can hear the snoring of his housemates.
Ivan sighs and looks at the window. This is his home for now, but already he’s established that isn’t-will never be- home. His room isn’t green; it’s red and white with paintings. The outside is too unfamiliar. The grass is too bright a green, the moon too large and the lake too ominous.
Turning on his sides, the ash-blond snuggles into his bedding, pretending it’s his sister’s room, warm like always, and he’s there with her stroking his hair and telling him fairy tales about Ivan Tsarevich or Ivan Durak, the prince and the fool, who battled evil, were good, and got the beautiful princess.
As Ivan begins to dream away from Scotland, and back to his home, he feels that maybe, with his sister, he’ll get through.
(OOC: Have a Marxist, manipulative, totally obsessed with Ukraine!Ivan. XD. Poor Belarus.)
