Character Name: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo
Country: Spain
Age: 16
House: Gryffindor
Gender: Male
Personality: Antonio is very bubbly and happy, sometimes bordering on oblivious. Inside, hes very aware of people and what they think, but likes to act oblivious because hes most comfortable with it. That, and he is a bit lazy, so he doesn't even try to read people or the atmosphere. Antonio loves people a lot, and is extremely loyal to his friends no matter what. Hes optimistic and very passionate, and is able to keep up his happiness in trying times by looking at the little things in life, from the sunny shores of his home to the fresh fields of Hogwarts.Antonio tends to come off as a bumpkin at times, but he's actually very smart when push comes to shove. He adores small children, tomatoes, and honesty. He wants to travel around the world a lot. He hates being or seeing people picked on, prefers to talk things out, and all together likes it when things are calm and going at a laid-back passe'. He loves the subjects of Devination and Transfiguration, and wants to be a teacher, even if he finds Devination to be really hard. He loves sports, and knows how to fly a little bit, but wants to extend this skill even more. After he got into Hogwarts, he figured he'd apply for the Quidditch team of whatever house he got into.
Background: Antonoio grew up in a muggle neighborhood, loving all things magic and fantasy for the longest time. Sometimes odd incidents would occur, and it wasn't until Antonio was seven his father thought it was time to tell him (lets ignore the fact that he blew jello up in his Aunt's face when she pissed him off) about the wizarding world. It turns out that his mother was a muggle, and Antonio's father was a wizard working under Pangaea's government. He wasn't very important or influential, more like a worker drone then anything. In the wizarding word, his father was mundane, but to Antonio, he walked on water. From then on, Antonio was home schooled and taught magic secretly extensively to Antonio, going to great lengths to help and educate his son in anyway he could. Antonio was part of both the muggle and magical world, though it was obvious from the get go that he belonged more in wizarding world.
However, Antonio's father was killed during a rebellion raid, just two years before Pangaea's own downfall. This made him resent the new government just a tad, since it was obvious some of the major supporters and instigators of the rebellions were taking control. But he soon got over it, approving of the new laws and restrictions they repealed, and thinking that his own father would love the new government. Antonio was ecstatic when he got his letter in the mail for Hogwarts, reliving stories his father had told him about the place (he was on the older side when he started a family, being in his fifth year when Pangaea came into power). Which brings us to now.
RP Sample: . . .Toni . . . . ! Antonio mumbled in his sleep, the sun blaring in his eyes. No, not getting up, even if Mama yells.
. . . "Antonio Fernandez Carriedo, get down here before i make you get down here! I've been calling you for fifteenth minutes!" His mother yelled again, venom in her voice this time.
Antonio dragged his eyes open, rolling off the bed unceremoniously, a thunk notifying his mother that he was up. Antonio blearily peeled open his eyes, yup, Jojo was in the corner, his tawny feathers ruffled and amber eyes eying him murderously for upsetting his beauty sleep. Pff, little owl, just cause Antonio makes noise to wake the dead in the morning doesn't mean his own pet should give him a death glare as a 'good morning'! Ignoring the owl's indignant stare, he pulled on shorts and pranced down stairs, wondering what mama wanted.
The middle aged woman stood at the counter, sipping coffee. She jerked her head the the table, where a thick envelope was piled on top of the more important looking bills and notifications.
"Whats this mama?" asked Antonio, flopping down and unpeeling a banana from the bowl, fat envelope in the other.
"School letter," the woman mumbled, sipping her coffee and looking at it like she wish it would combust.
He gave her an odd look. She only acted this way when magic was involved. Not that the woman was adverse to it, but Antonio suspected that it was because it reminded her of his father, whom she missed dearly. Whom he missed dearly. It was almost like the world froze when papa died. Antonio let his face drop into an uncharacteristic frown, ripping the letter open without a word.
. . . Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry invites you . . .
. . . Wait.
What?
Antonio's mouth dropped into a perfect 'O', dropping his banana in shock. The stories his father told him about his days at the school coming back.
" . . . Mama, I can go, right? . . . right? . . . .RIGHT?" he looked up happily, wide, puppy-like eyes popping out.
His mother looked like she was trying to conceal laughter, the laugh lines melting back into their rightful place on her face, the soft, warm butter-like voice came back, "Of course you can, my ángulo mágico. But you have to promise me something. . . "
Antonio perked up more, he'd do anything! "What?" he chirped.
His mother put on an identical face, an flighty air coming over her that often mirrored what people called her son's 'ditzy face', "Just have fun for me and papa, Mágico~ "
Antonio smiled. She finally mentioned papa again.
The world really was moving on.
((i'm sorry for the really sappy RP sample, I HAD TO DO ET. And i had nothing else that i felt was going to be interesting, so a little peek at 'Toni's homelife~ Also: i have /no/ idea what his parents names could be, when i think of something i'll edit them in :/))
