It was September 1st when a cab stopped in front of a brick building known to locals as King's Cross station, its archways and passageways filled with people going about making their way to the platforms as the trains came in. The cab door opened and Im stepped out, his robes in vivid purple and pink instantly gaining stares and a few laughs from passerby, he brushed it off after all it was his Hanbok and he was proud to wear it. He got his bags from the open trunk and paid the driver as he walked and was set to find platform 9 3/4 it was 10:45, 15 minutes before the train arrived. Pushing through the crowds he noticed a few people pass through a brick column and deemed it as the way to the platform as his father told him.
Im arrived at the platform brushing his black hair from his eyes as he dragged his bags behind him and noticed the red steamer it was strange for him to see one since he was used to electric ones, its round front boiler and the steam coming out of the engine with the distinct humming noise, he was awestruck to say the least.
He wanted to take it apart to see how it ticked.
Im brushed the thought and walked to the nearest coach, finding himself squeezed between students and parents saying their goodbyes and walked pass them. He walked to the nearest compartment and took his seat, hoping that the students he passed wouldn't sit with him as he loved a chance to nap but he liked to listen to the steams music even better so he closed his eyes and concentrated to the alluring sound of moving parts.

Tino rushed past the crowds in the King’s Cross Station, dragging his luggage with him and trying to navigate his way through the unfamiliar places without bumping into other people. It wasn’t an easy task though; there were too many people to his liking and his thoughts kept derailing due to his excitement and lack of sleep. His mouth cracked open in a giant yawn and wished he hadn’t thought that taking a night flight to London would be an absolutely great plan. Because it clearly hadn’t been.
It was almost 10:50 when he finally found the right platform. Or rather, the entrance to it. It looked just like any other brick column in the station, nothing fancy there, but the buzzing crowd around it gave it away. He started to squeeze his way through, muttering apologies along the way. He stopped a few steps from the column, watching as two small girls stepped through the brick wall, followed by a boy about his age. It seemed that he wasn’t a the only one who’d be starting his education in his late teens.
He felt a little nervous when his turn to step through to the other side came. He had never done this before but figured if children almost half his age managed the task he should be fine too. So he stepped forward and walked through, half-expecting to feel some kind of change in his surroundings. It never came, though, just a second of darkness before finding himself in another world.
There were tons of people on the platform, children and adults, hugging and saying goodbyes to each other while the express whistled and owls shrieked in their cages. It was much more lively and crowded than outside. Having no one to say goodbye to, Tino walked quickly to the train, eager to get rid of his heavy luggage and finally rest his tired legs. He lifted his trunk into one of the wagons and hopped in, starting to look for a compartment that wasn’t too full yet. He walked along the corridor for a while with no luck but in the next wagon he found one that was unoccupied except for a lone dark-haired boy. He opened the door slightly and poked his head in.
“Um, sorry.” He said, hoping to catch the boy‘s attention as his eyes were closed. “May I sit here?”

Im was startled and tumbled to stand almost falling on the person that arrived. He fixed his hanbok and sat back down, gesturing the guy to sit.
Im wanted to talk to the guy, get to know him, since he looked the same age and having friends wouldn't hurt. Im had been trained to speak in english, but his accent gets the better of him at times, he pondered on the question of talking and convinced himself to talk. "I'm Im Yong Soo, You?" He said without a hitch as he held out his hand to the blond. "You can call me Im." He gave out a smile.

[[It’s fine, it’s not like I’ll be able to reply everyday either ^^]]
Tino felt a little sorry for the boy as he almost jumped out of his skin at his words. It seemed he had surprised him pretty badly. Still, the boy didn’t say anything, just politely let him take his seat. Tino lifted his trunk onto the luggage rack and sat down across from the boy.
Now that he was facing him, he saw that he had Asian features. He wondered briefly whether he had been invited to come from his home country to attend Hogwarts like he had been. He soon got an answer to his question as the boy opened his mouth to introduce himself, his English heavy with accent Tino couldn’t quite place. He wasn’t very familiar with Asian countries.
“Tino Väinämöinen.” He took the offered hand and gave it a brief but firm squeeze. Im smiled at him and he returned the favor, glad that he had managed to find a seemingly nice traveling companion. He felt a little out of place and nervous, the thought of having someone to talk to made him feel slightly better.
“You’re not from around here either, are you?” He asked him, trying to strike up a conversation. “I guess there are gonna be students from all around this year.” Tino gave Im a questioning look, awaiting for reply.

Im was intently studying the boy whose name he now knew as Tino. When Tino kept his luggage Im noticed the boys features, starting with a very obvious white beret, the blond hair and when he turned around, the brown eyes. Judging from what he saw, Im guessed that Tino was about 5'5 and probably from the north by his accent.
Im hoped he didn't squeeze too hard when he shook Tino's hand he was prone to use too much force ever since he went for the mandatory military conscription. "I am sorry if that was too much." He actually wanted to sleep and listen to the trains movement but some company wouldn't hurt.
"Yes. I came from Korea, I believe you are also not a local here?" Im answered the question with little enthusiasm, hopefully it didn't show. He leaned back, stretching a bit. His arms raised and a slight yawn escaping his lips. "I guess so, my step-brothers have also been invited here, but we all arrived separately so I haven't seen them around."
"How about you? Do you have family here too?" Im just wanted to break the ice at least, to make the room less tense. "You don't have to be nervous Tino, its just us here, at least I hope so. I am not going to bully you if your thinking that." Im gave out a smile, hopefully this guy would warm up to him.

Ah, so the boy was Korean. Not from anywhere near London, then. Somehow it made him glad, to meet someone who was in a similar situation as him.
“No, I’m from Finland.” He said, pausing for a while before continuing. “From northern Europe.” He added, just in case Im didn’t know where his home country was located. He settled more comfortably onto the cushioned seat, watching Im let out a yawn. Tino was suddenly reminded of his own tiredness as his own mouth imitated the action. He hoped the journey to Hogwarts wouldn’t take very long; he wasn’t very good at sleeping sitting up.
Tino felt a small pang of jealousy as Im mentioned his step-brothers. That meant the Korean boy would have people he knew at the school, unlike him. He would have to get by on his own, at least until he made new friends.
“I’m the only child so…” He trailed off, hoping that Im would understand. He didn’t really feel like talking about the subject. He quickly continued in a brighter tone. “But yeah, it’s not like it really matters, I will get to know everyone once the lessons start anyway! I‘m so excited!” He laughed and hoped it didn’t sound as nervous as it did in his own ears. The sound echoed miserably in the compartment, leaving a somewhat awkward silence in its wake.
Im was the first to speak again, his words surprising Tino a little. It was not like he was worried about the other boy… The whole situation was just so new to him, he didn’t quite know what to with himself.
“Ah,okay.” He didn’t really know what he should say. Im was smiling at him though, so he figured he’d try to be polite too. “Thanks.” He smiled back at the Korean and then turned to look out of the window. The train still hadn’t left the station, but the only ones left on the platform were the waving family members. He guessed they’d depart any minute now.
“Man, what’s taking so long?” He still wondered out loud. He wanted nothing more than to just have a warm meal and curl up in a warm bed for a good night’s rest. He let out a tired sigh. “Do you have any idea how long this trip is gonna take?” He asked, hoping that Im had more knowledge in the matter than him.

Im looked at Tino looking out the window, he was probably waiting for the train to depart. Tino answered his thoughts when he asked about the time it would take to get there, which frankly, he himself didn't know. Im judged that since the castle was in Scotland and they were in London, it would probably take three to four hours from here to there. "Since we're in London and the schools in Scotland, it should take three to four hours, even on a train."
Im noticed the tiredness in Tino's voice. He looked quite disappointed, probably from the train not yet leaving. "You look tired Tino. You should probably take a nap, these seats are quite comfortable you know?" Im patted the cushion to emphasize his point, making his sleeves bounce in the air. "Let's hope that there won't be any more people so we can sleep on it comfortably."
Im wanted to sleep himself, which was what he was doing before Tino arrived. "Tino, do you like machinery?" Since there was nothing to talk about. He decided to talk about machines, hopefully Tino liked them too. "This train is marvelous, look at it! Its beautiful, its moving parts, the steam, the rails on the tracks." Im controlled himself when he noticed he was being too noisy. "Do you think they'll allow students making machines on the grounds?"

[Sorry for taking so loooong! DX *has a billion threads to reply to*]
Tino felt slightly disappointed when Im told it would take several hours to reach their destination, even though he figured it was to be expected. He sighed again and turned away from the window.
Im’s suggestion sounded very tempting, but Tino wanted to make sure no one really was going to be joining them before he took the whole seat to himself. He really didn’t want to make some other passenger stand the whole ride while he himself had a nap.
“Ah, yeah. Maybe a little later.” He said, rubbing his eyes. The cushion’s really were quite nice, he probably wouldn’t have problems falling asleep if he laid down.
There was a small pause while they both seemed to think about what to say. Im beat him to it though, starting on about the train and it’s machinery. He seemed to be very into it, judging from the sudden excitement in his voice. Tino himself couldn’t say he was too interested in the subject, and even if he had been he was too tired to get hyped up over anything right now. Still, he didn’t want to seem rude so he went along with the subject.
“Hmm, I can’t say I’m very familiar with it.” He told Im the truth once the boy had quieted down. “And I guess that depends on what you’re planning to make…As long as it’s something relatively small and harmless I don’t see why they would forbid it.” At least that’s what he thought, he couldn’t be sure. “You must ask someone in the staff when we arrive.” Tino settled more comfortably into his seat before continuing. “Did you already have something in mind?”

"No. Actually I haven't given it much thought, but since you asked, I could make a robot to do some of the cleaning I need done or maybe something to prank people." Im looked lost in thought, his head tilted to the ceiling and his eyes staring blankly at it. 'Yeah, something to prank people with, something nice to prank Kiku and Yao.'
'Maybe I could make a machine to trip people but then I'll need some help with the spell I'll need to get it to work.' Im's mind started working, it was almost like a switch was turned on and he couldn't be budged.
Having noticed that Tino was still waiting for a reply. "I'm sorry, I usually blank out like that when I'm thinking." Having thought of asking the Nordic to help him, his mouth automatically opened. "Hey, do you like playing pranks?" Im rethought his statement, Tino could tell someone about his prank before he could do it. "I'll tell you something if you promise you won't tell, okay?" Im pushed his hand forward, waiting for Tino to promise.

Cleaning or playing tricks on people? Those were kind of… odd options. Well, Tino sure could understand the cleaning part, having some extra help with chores never hurt. But a machine to prank people with? Tino guessed that maybe Im was the kind of person every class was bound to have, the one who wouldn’t obey the rules no matter what and was always up to something new to cause ruckus. He sighed mentally. Well, he’d dealt with this kind of people in the past, he surely could handle yet another one.
It seemed Im had wandered off into his own thoughts, he wasn’t entirely focused. He mumbled something about machinery and two people Tino guessed were either the step brothers he’d mentioned or his friends. He wondered if he should ask but the decided against it. Im probably wouldn’t have heard him anyway.
After a little while Im snapped back to the present and Tino dismissed his apologies with a wave of his hand. It was not like it had bothered him, he was spacing out a little himself. Maybe he really should try to sleep for a bit.
He was a little surprised at Im’s question, but he probably should’ve seen it coming. The other boy was pretty excited about the idea, after all. Tino wondered how to shape his answer for a minute before opening his mouth.
“Haven’t really tried before, so I’m not sure…” He said, a little vaguely. “But I don’t think it’s something I’d be… interested in that much.” Tino hoped the boy wouldn’t feel too disappointed, he looked like he had something in mind. Im had his arm extended and was looking at him expectantly. “But I promise I won’t tell anyone.” This was true, no matter what Im wanted to tell him, his secret was safe with him. He hated nothing in the world more than dishonesty and back stabbing and sure as hell didn’t want to indulge in either of those. “What is it?” He asked, slightly curious.

"Let's shake on it!" Im took Tino's hand and enthusiastically shook it. Im had a wide smile as he let go of Tino. "Well, here's my secret stash!" His hand reached into his sleeve as the hanbok swayed and took out a small pouch. "Some of them are normal muggle pranks but I did some magic on some of them and enhanced it."
Im opened the pouch revealing several firecrackers, vials with liquids of varying colors from green to blue, some joy buzzers, a whoopy cushion and a lot of other stuff. "Well? Aren't you amazed?" Im thought Tino looked like he didn't belive him so he decided to use one to prove that it works. "How about we use of the crackers? Its easy! Watch." He took out a small firecracker out of the pouch and took his wand from his other sleeve.
There aren't any teachers on the train are there? Im thought but brushed it aside. He looked around the room to be sure. He stood up and looked over the baggage shelve, under the seats and cracked the door open to peek outside for anyone that might pass by. Seeing no one but the conductor moving to the forward buggy, Im thought it was clear.
"Here hold this." Im handed Tino a bright red pointed tube, it had a clear head since it looked like a cap. The other side had a nice fuse dangling at the end."Um. What was that spell again? Lumos? Repairo? No it was something like, um Incendio! Yeah that's it." Im tapped his wand on the fuse, as he remembered the spell.
"You ready? It shouldn't make much noise but its gonna leave a big black spot here." Im said as he pointed at the wall opposite the crackers head.
"Well shall I or do you want to do it?" Im smiled like a kid getting a toy on christmas as he said it to Tino.

"Y-yeah." Tino said as Im shook his hand so hard he thought his arm would come off. Once the boy let go, Tino straightened and adjusted the beret on his head, trying to return the smile. He watched Im dig out his little treasure pouch and found himself slightly unimpressed. What was so secret about a couple of pranks?
Oh, he realised as Im continued his explanation. They have a spell cast on them. Tino peeked into the bag when Im opened it, eyeing the colourful contents with both suspicion and mild interest. It had been years since he'd come across any magical stuff, after all. Still, he couldn't help having a bad feeling about this.
"Ah, maybe it's better we don't--" He tried to say but Im was already checking around to make sure they were alone. It did nothing to ease his mind.
Im thrusted something that Tino didn't exactly recognise into his hands and dug out his wand. Tino really hoped the boy knew what he was doing. He wasn't sure if they were allowed to do magic in the train, but even if they were he would've much preferred to just stop with this madness before something nasty happened. He didn't really want to get into trouble before the school even started.
Tino just looked at the other boy nervously when he asked if he was ready because, really, he wasn't. But the look on Im's face told him that it would be of no use to try to stop the boy now.
Gosh, what have I gotten myself into?
"N-no, you can do it..." He looked warily at the object in his hands. After a second he held it out to the other boy, hoping he would take it back. "You should probably hold it if you're the one casting the spell." Tino really didn't feel like taking the change of getting a "big black spot" where his head had once been. But then again, he didn't really want the other boy blowing his head off either...
"Are you sure this is safe?" He tried one last time. "Shouldn't we wait 'till we're at the school grounds or something?" Or at least until I'm not around, he mentally added.
[Sorry for the wait orz DX]

"Okay!" Tino tried to give the cracker back to him, but Im just thought that he aimed it to better hit the door. "Are you sure this is safe?" Tino asked and Im nodded with flair. "Yeah, I did this a lot back home." Im started tracing his wand so he could use the spell. "Incendio!" The fuse lit up and started making a small popping noise as it went up the firecracker. "Its coming! Hold it steady!" Im held Tino's hand as he aimed it at the door so it wouldn't shake.
The fuse entered the firecracker and slowly more popping sounds were heard. Suddenly, a fairly loud bang resounded in the room and the cracker started to flare up. Its light momentarily blinding them as they're eyes adjusted to it. Another bright flash shot out of the cone its head clearly went off with it. It flew straight at the door's glass window as Im looked in horror ... He was so going to get scolded for this.
The cap still headed towards the other cabin, thankfully it deflected from the ceiling and exploded on the rug. Apparently there was a bit too much gunpowder in the cone. Broken glass fell as Im opened the door. Peeking his face a little, Im could see the damage he had done. Everything was a mess. The soot covered the entire hallway, the roofs brown color was now black as well as the wooden doors. They now look like something that came out of a battlefield.
"Aaaah! I didn't want it to end up like this!" Im slammed the door open and panicked as he inspected the soot more closely. "You need to help me Tino!" Im grabbed Tino by the shoulders and shook him as he said it. "It's held on by a permanent sticking charm. You have to help me, you're my friend right right Tino?" Im started obsessing on what to do. How did he get the stuff to get itself to dissipate before when he used one during a class.
"Wait! That's it! dissipate!" Im shouted it to Tino's face. "Tino! Yeah I know now, We'll just bedazzle it! Yeah!" Im started whipping out his want and chanting the charm. Sadly his magic was weak, it only bedazzled, that is made invisible, a small part of the blotch. Im's panicked face was in front of Tino's again. "Y-you gotta help me! Its a simple bedazzling spell, PLEASE!"

Alfred had just been sitting in a compartment to himself, minding his own business, when he heard a loud bang. At first he really didn't want to go investigate, this was his alone time, afterall, but he reminded himself that he was the hero and it was his duty and his honor to help all of those in need. So he hoisted himself out of his seat and donned his warm, fluffy bombers jacket.
He slid open the door of the compartment where the noise had come from and look around in shock. The whole compartment seemed to be covered in soot and gunpowder with two boys standing in the middle. The Asian one was freaking out and shouting at the blonde, something about a bedazzling spell.
Oh, if it was a bedazzling spell they needed, then they could have just asked. Not only that, but it woul dprobably be better to use...
"Scourgify" He castt he cleaning spell and wiped away all the mess, looking pleased with himself. Really, they should have at least known a simple cleaning spell like that, since that's all they were taught in the Institute.

Despite Im’s reassurances Tino wasn’t at all convinced of the safety of shooting rockets inside small train compartments. He watched in horror as Im lit the fuse and the cracker started sizzling and popping, fighting the urge to drop the thing onto the ground. Not that he could’ve let go anyway, with I’m hand squeezed tightly around his own.
There was a loud bang when the cracker went off and Tino closed his eyes, preparing for the worst. He saw light fill the room for a second through his closed eyelids, followed by a sound of a window breaking. Tino slowly opened his eyes once he felt Im let go and grimaced when he saw the mess.
“Ei helvetti…” The curse slipped from his mouth without him even noticing. There was no way they could clean this up. It was only a matter of time when someone came down the corridor and saw the damage, and then they’d be in trouble. Or rather, they were already in trouble. Tino could see his father’s face in his mind when he got the bill for the property they’d destroyed. Or a note saying his son was expelled from the school on the first day.
He stood there, staring at the havoc, at a total loss. Suddenly Im was at his face, yelling something and shaking him. Tino couldn’t really bring himself to listen to him, he was still in kind of a shock.
Bedazzling spell…what’s that? Tino thought absent-mindedly as Im’s words finally started to sink into his brain. Im had dug out his wand and was trying to cast a spell, but nothing really happened. Really, Tino wasn’t sure if that was a bad thing or not, he didn’t quite trust Im’s magic skills at the moment. Though he didn’t really think things could’ve gotten any worse, anyway.
Not until Im started pleading him to do magic, at least.
A simple spell? There was no such thing as a simple spell for him, he’d never even tried to cast one! The only thing he’d ever done was turning his hair blue. And even that had been unconsciously.
“I…” He said, starting to panic himself. What should he tell Im? That he was a muggle-born? Or the truth that he was a failure as a wizard, totally oblivious of their way of life?
“I d--” He tried again, but froze mid-sentence when he saw a boy stepping through the broken door. He was tall and fair, clearly a westerner, and he was eyeing the destruction somewhat shocked. Tino mentally said goodbye to his dreams of becoming a proper wizard. There was no way to get out of this mess now that the boy had seen them. He’d go tell one of the teachers about them and that would be it.
Tino turned to the boy, wanting to say something to him, anything that would make him understand that it had been an accident, that he should show them pity just enough to not tell on them. The boy suddenly opened his mouth, but instead of the awaited questioning he yelled out a spell and in a second the compartment as good as new, the mahogany door shiny and the glass intact, the floor and the seats clean from the soot. Tino couldn’t help but stare in awe.
“Thank you so much!” He said after the few moments his mind took to comprehend the current situation. It seemed they might not get expelled after all. “You totally saved us!” Tino bowed his head slightly, a little embarrassed but grateful nonetheless.
